PLASTIC TANKS - DISASTER.
Whilst building a new 40 minus today , i decided to utilise a long range plastic tank that ive had on the shelf for a while. Though fairly new , it had a couple of paint splashes on the side from an earlier job..... so without more ado i put some cellulose thinners on a rag in an attempt to clean things up ............BAD MISTAKE !..........the thinners got rid of the paint ok but it left the tank with a shitty brown haze in the plastic grain . So far, its resisted all attempts to rectify the situation. Keep celly thinners away from seagulls, its bad news......... Not content with that, i managed to pull one of the brass inserts from from the plastic tank mounts. Has anyone any idea what to glue it back in with ?

Grin..... Devine providence!! (intervention?), I don't believe plastic and seagulls should mix. Even plastic fuel lines irk me. Good luck.bigoink wrote:..... so without more ado i put some cellulose thinners on a rag in an attempt to clean things up ............BAD MISTAKE !..........the thinners got rid of the paint ok but it left the tank with a shitty brown haze in the plastic grain
