You mean casting first stone and such on a bitsa....? I'll leave the really detailed build standard comments to those that know; I give up on 102s when I think I see red petrol taps. (Could be the colour balance I suppose) But what date/model is the "changed" gearbox from? Guess the purist collector would cringe. The selector rod seems to go through the top of the exhaust flange rather than a side cut slot as on my much later 102 TC series clutched 30:12 gearbox.
I'm also puzzled by the serial number and apparent lack of letter code.....OP/ON? The ser # just doesn't seem to stack with any web published lists for 1937 that I've seen....... There also seems to be overstamping in the middle or am I mistaken? Sloppy manufacture ?
