amal carbs!!??

Post by nwcove »

im trying to revive a wscl 721dd8 with an amal carb, i want to mix and match parts from a sl 2081d9 with the amal carb. both barbs appear to be identical, are they? ( the threads are stripped where the float bowl attaches to the bottom of the carb on the wscl, and i want to use just enough parts from the sl to solve the problem)

thanks

Have a look at the jets. The 1978 motor may well be jetted for a different fuel mixture.

There are little numbers stamped on the jets. If they're the same then no problem; if they're different then the later one will be 25:1, the earlier one 10:1

Don't know if it will work for you, depends on what you have, but it use a radiator key.
