I have a Forty Plus, GFP 377 AA7, 1977 for sale. It is currently a non-runner as it isn't producing a spark, I think because the coil is faulty (resistance usually measures as an open circuit but very occasionally at about 4900 ohms). The suppressor in the HT lead has been removed and the two sections of lead joined with a copper wire inserted into each section of lead, then encased in water resistant heat shrink - obviously temporary in an attempt to get it running before investing further.
It turns on the cord freely with the plug removed and has compression with the plug in place. The tank is undented but quite rusty inside. The chromed leg is slightly pitted. I can't be certain but I believe it will run once it sparks, although the Bing carb might need a service.
I am selling it on behalf of the widow of a guy who died about 10 years ago. It has not been used since his death and she has told me that it was only ever used in the Norfolk Broads, she thinks mostly in fresh water.
It comes with the original Handbook, 27th edition, in good condition but with one or two hand written bits on the front cover (serial number, phone number). Also the Service Manual with 30 Service sheets stapled into a booklet, in very good condition.
Can be viewed by arrangement at IP30, midway between Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk or at Shotley Marina where I keep my boat. My phone number is 01449 737264. I am looking for about £50.
