Sailing in the New World...Upstate NY in January 2007

Post by CatiGull »

Well, hard to believe but it reached 20C here in Albany NY - so I popped Roscoe the FP out of winter mode, put it on the back of the Cheetah and

The air was steady and light and I didnt even need Roscoe and sailed back to dock.

We are usually averaging -5C this time of year, and the Hudson can easily be jjammed with ice!

cheers everyone

Looks like a fine way to spend the winter! I just pulled the mast and rigging off my boat to get ready for winter maintenance but the day after I pulled it all off I was wishing I had left it on. I had perfect sailing weather and couldn't enjoy it. I'd better get working so I'll be ready for the next great day. Glad you had a chance to enjoy the water

Odd weather

Hi Steve, lucky you!

Here in the UK we have temperatures of 13 to 15 degress way above normal, but as the wind is severe gale, F9, no one is out sailing!

We should be having 0 to 5 degrees here, cannot even remember the last frost, sometime in November....

What Global warming I hear an ostrich saying!

Hope when the sun comes back the breeze is a little kinder!
