taper needle

i have a forty featherweight fitted with a seagull-viliers concentric float chamber carburettor- top feed.
trying to get the taper needle out to see what number is on it then i will know the correct fuel mix, cant move the little screw at all on top of the throttle valve piston, to let the needle come out is it ok to give this heat.

I would try a boil up or soak first, before you go for the oxy.
