Ebay name
I use pecan_john on ebay. I don’t intend to sell anything, but I do buy occasionally. I am high bidder on another Seagull now, but that will probably change.

I think everybody knows mine anyway, but for those that don't, I'm Seagull170, & my name is Charles Large, or I'm CharlesUK here on SOS.
I only like bright colours. & my favorite tea is PG Tips.
And please add your geographical location, OK so Pecan John is in Alabama & it's unlikely I'm going to be driving past him & wanting to taste his PG Tips, but there are now several Seagull Anoracks here in the UK that I would ring, if I was looking for a FV cylinder head in good useable condition still attached to both it's tank mounting brackets, knowing that the description I would be given over the phone was 100% accurate & that the price I would be asked, would reflect a true cost/value & not a high season ticket to Florida.
Thank you John, this site has proved a valued resorce in my quest for strange Seagull information & has introduced me to numerous Seagull devoties all over the World, Keep up the good Work!

Ebay user name
Good day to all you good folk,I would like to join in the group coming in out of the Ebay shadows. I use Quasar2tc as my Ebay user name. However I must declare that knowing the idents of others that might be buying from Ebay will not inhibit me from bidding against them.
Happy Christmas to you all on SOS and best wishes for gentle breezes and calm seas for next season.
Kind regards
Ray

We had an interesting occurence on a sailing board...turned out we were buying some things on ebay that the seller had inventory, but was putting up one at a time. On the board, we took turns buying it so we werent bidding it up..
well, it turns out this is illegal behaviour in the States. I have no idea of the legalities etc overseas, since I am not a lawyer (on this side) or solicitor (on the other side)
No action or anything was taken, but you do have to be a bit careful about communicating about auctions where we live, at least.
In our case, we paid a fair, market price for the item so I felt there was no palpable damage done to the vendor so I didnt feel I had done anything morally wrong...still, we are more careful about discussing auctions on our board now - we basically only point to auctions.
I still like to know from whom Im buying, and if I know an ebayer is part of this active community the value of the auction item goes up, since you have a large guarantee of reputability at least!!

I'm sakean99, and live in Stafford (not a million miles from Wolverhampton!). I bought my 40 featherweight on e-bay but am unlikely to be buying collector's items.
The 40 is required to power my rubber duck to/from the moorings after I broke the fuel tap off my SuzyQ DT2. A replacement tap is on factory back order with no delivery date quotable at present! No such problems with Seagull funilly enough!

Forty Featherweight, not that old - but sure does look it!
