Forty Plus for spares or project

Post by rhhflyer »

I have a Seagull Forty Plus available for spares or as a renovation project, in return for a contribution (minimum £10) to the RNLI. The engine is complete but does not turn, I suspect the top bearing is seized. Near Waterlooville in Hampshire, just north of Portsmouth. Buyer collection only.

Hi,

I could well be intrested. Just nearing the end of restoration on my forty plus, so will be thinking of restoration rather than spares.

I live in Fareham, and i'm thinking how could i sneek another in without my wife saying "What do you want another one for?"

Hi Andy,

Arguments I've used successfully in the past include:-

"It's too good an opportunity to miss" (Cheap, very close by, etc)

"It will hardly take up any space and it keeps me out of the pub"

"It's all in a good cause" (Money for the lifeboats)

The other thing to do is to hide it in the back of your car until a suitable moment, when you've got loads of brownie points...

Good luck. I'm in Denmead if you want to pop over. My mobile number is 07811 095898.

Rob,

I'll come and get it then.

Just told the wife.... Think it went well.

What another one??? What do you want another one for?? I can't move in that garage because of outboard bits all over the floor! The kids would probably break there necks if they tried getting to any toys. Don't you ever moan at us for putting anything in the garage again. And i bet i can't get my bike out?

That'll be the bike you don't use then!! Oh and i better not mention i put a small bid on a bay one.

Crikey... I grew up in Uplands Rd, Denmead. Is it still a Naval village?
