At the end of the day if they are not taking your money out of one hand they are taking it out of the other and if not they are taking it out of your back pocket without you knowing.

Like the global warming bandwagon.

Is that Diesel oil, or petrol? I know about adding color to "off-road" Diesel (green here in the colonies for farm use, home-heating oil, etc.) but do they add tell-tale dyes to spark-ignited fuel as well, out your way, if it's sold for non-road use?

Most people don't call it cherry red, otherwise known as red diesel, for agricultural use and heating oil.

I live out in the sticks and I have not got a fat four by four, but I do know, and I have seen, people filling up these big four by fours with red diesel. Nobody seems to be stopping them. All prices are going up. You should see the price that people have to pay for bottled gas and then start complaining.

I think you'll find Keith that if you use red diesel for boat propulsion that it cost exactly the same as white diesel from the gas station, you only get the 35p per liter tax advantage if you use it for heating, electricty generation, agriculture, or construction.

If you've paid the full price why wouldn't you put it in your 4 x 4 apart from it's almost complete lack of modern clean running additives, I hear it's not cost effective to use in many of the modern turbo high power diesels, as continued use lowers their emission figures, below MOT levels.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

If you say so Charles.

The chandlers sell a 45 Gal drum of gas oil(red diesel) for £162.
Or you could go pay £6 a Gallon at the pumps, 45Gal will cost you £270.
