Nice job with the Gull as per usual, the other motor at the end of the vid.
Is it a 1963 Evinrude 28 or 33?

End of vid?
Evinrude 6
1966 6602. Work in progress.
I have a question about the vid.............I mixed 10:1 because it was a tight rebuild.
I have a 25:1 needle in it and still with 10:1 ..............No smoke?
It is idling rich, black smoke just visible which is OK as just bedding it in so far.
Now how does that work out then?
Plug as clean as......................

Re: My Minus SJM 661L5
OK, ran it again for an hour in the tub, prop on. Yes I checked that water was coming out as per every now and again.
Same thing, 25:1 needle (Set up a bit) and 10:1 mix................no blue smoke, just a tad black wafting about.
Here is a pic of the plug..............maybe 1/8th throttle for an hour. It is gaining compression and running better and better. Stint on a boat in Novemember to run it in properly.
Anyway the pic...........

Dry and quite reasonable for what it was doing eh?
When out of the tub there was the usuall black ooze out of every orriface so well oiled with the 10:1.
No Blue Smoke? I usually have the street blocked off with emergency services (If I put the 10:1 needle back)
Need to learn something here please.
Regards

Well, I just had my FAV Featherweight running in the tub. It has a Bing Carb and I dosed it with 25:1.
More smoke, made me cough, than the minor. (25:1 needle with 10:1 mix...............no Smoke)

So, what is the difference between the two? See previous Mates!

PIZ!
Somehow after 2 hours in the tub, the cracks have gone, been blown away by superior compression and red hot ignition of the Old Dear. Not that you had me worried at all.....

Still too tight as previously and needs a stint under load mid November.
Cleaned up the powerhead, on the floor as of now, leg, gearbox and transom bracket next.

Maybe someone could learn me here..............

Fiber resin gasket?...............Spacer?
Also, we Colonials, like something better than "Coffee Colour" in our gearbox emulsion. Bit more like Spearment Milk (Browns Product Local)

Fresh Limslip 140 is green/blue in colour which, after a few hours idling in tub turns this lovelly colour! (I like Green).
Cool!
Fresh!
Minty!
You know yr soaking in it........................

Re: My Minus SJM 661L5
Sorry to drag this back but time line is everything.
John supplied NOS exhaust tube and at his "Looks Better Bruce", I got the torque tube re chromed. Had to shim the F out of it as when I asked the dicks at Vinci Chrome to not "F down there"...................They Did! All sorted with brass shims by hand over 360 deg single layer. Tight as with no need for a pin, thankfully.
Then I found a NOS bracket assembly down here to make it more nicer. (I just wanted to get the Old Thing as it was with History eh?) so stuffed that on and fell about how to adjust a Seagull transom Bracket! Totally easy!
Now sorting the bloody tank dents out!
MAD I Tell You!
