A lot of gentle persuasion and it will eventually come off!

Heat at joint where you removed the screw. Or undo the drivetube from powerhead, remove lower unit, wiggle bottom end of exhaust tube [wiggle and pull, more heat if necessary] till it comes off. Easy does it, don't want to expand upper end of tube too much.

Run a bit of diesel down the inside of the exhaust, leave it to soften the crud and all sould be well.
Life is what you make it, and what you make could change your life.

two days of liberal wd40 application worked for me. Thoght it was never going to come off as it wouldnt budge, then hey presto once it started to move it amost fell off!

Correct me if I'm wrong but there is a rubber O ring on the later ones that may be damaged if you apply heat. I can usually get the large flat of a screwdriver between block and top edge and lever it down. In the early days I tried tapping not too gently on the lower side of the block..... sheared the edge of the outlet hole off...
salvageable though.
