As part of my ongoing project at randomly playing with different parts of my seagull that is in pieces, today's project is the points.

Having allways had cars that seem to just work this is new ground for me ...

I have the guages, and understand the concept, but for some reason it is impossable to set any gap on the points, they seem to be 'gap free' across the whole range of adjustment!?

Is this an indicator of a worn out part, or am i missing the point (yes I actually chuckled when I typed that!).

Oh and the points are a mk1.

Thank you in advance,

Mark

scrub that whole question, I was missing the point by some way!

So setting the gap with the motor striiped to component parts will never work, had a play and then remembered how my spark plugs fire - timing!

Happy days, haphazard seagull rebuild is well underway.
