century conversion

Post by billyboy »

i have a WSPC (amal carb) silver century with a cracked block. i dont have a spare amal block but do have a couple of W(villiers carb) blocks and some spare villiers carbs.can i simply substitute the block and carb(effectively turning it into a WPC)or will i need to retain the rod ,crank and/or case from the W century?i read somewhere that they had a slightly longer stroke(theWSPC) so i guess something has to be different. would appreciate any help please
cheers

No problem, this is a straight swap. Naturally the Amal carb and the Villiers carb aren't interchangeable because of the inlet stub.

Yes, the stroke is the same. The crankshaft, con-rod, piston, all the same.

You may of course need to change the throttle lever.
