Hi folks-long time since I logged on since last summer - hope you all had a good winter, now thoughts are turning to spring, can anyone tell me how I can replace worn gears on a 40+. When I opened the gearbox, it was full of thick yellow grease (horror!) and obviously had not lubricated the gears the way nature intended. the top gear-not sure of the name- is almost worn smooth, whilst the bigger gear seems OK. Is it possible to change just this top gear?
Many thanks for your help

Re: Help!....worn gears
Yes you can change just the top pinion wheel but....
I think you will find it is much, much, much, less expensive and possibly a lot less work to buy a parts motor with a good gearbox.
And being in Devon you should have more Seagulls locally than you can shake a stick at....

Re: Help!....worn gears
agree 100% they are easy to rebuild but parts are expensive, you could buy a complete motor for the same cost
