Yes it'll fit. The smaller spigots sometimes found on Century blocks are for the (non-'Silver') models with a Villiers carb.

No she won't cry when you remove the carburettor from some Johnny Foreigner factory; she'll smile and regain her composure.

Bit like when the Sheilas repair their blotchy eyeshadow, you know, they get their confidence back.

Good luck.

Err.......... I must be missing something. ........

My answer would have been "Not possible unless you are a Pongo, or your favourite tool is a Manchester screwdriver"

Thank you, 40TPI, you are of course correct.

The carb you've bought is a Villiers, isn't it? My mistake, and if so no it won't fit.

What is a Pongo? International language differential I expect. Congratulations are in order on your successful win of the Dart championship!

Cheers Hugo.

The British Army squadie is famously known among military equipment suppliers for being able to incorrectly assemble or otherwise wreck any piece of kit entrusted to his care............he is 'affectionately' known by his colleagues in the other services as a Pongo on the basis that wherever the army goes the pong (smell) goes......

I'm assuming that it is a villiers which have a narrower spigot connection than the amal. I'm sure you could turn up a reducer tho it would extend further out which could affect performance.

well you are right it will not fit though an adaptor would be easy to make and not reduce the throat diameter . Have put it back on e bay minus the thumb throttle as I needed on of those too
Have been looking for the right carb for about 12 months without luck but have found a new replica of the Amal and will engineer a mount for it .
thanks for all your help ..

Can't you buy the correct one from John? He must have lots of them. You would have it by next week.
