Hi, the piston on my silver century looks scuffed on quite a large proportion of it's surface. Is it ok to polish it up and fit new rings? It runs well however, but I' m concerned it might seize in the future. When I rotate the flywheel by hand , it feels a little tighter than it was an hours run ...

I had all tanks and carbs off for cleaning and then found that the little forty has the carb on the other side of the engine to the other two. Figured it out! I can see now where all the screws go and what they are for. Just hope the engine works when I've finished it!

TC 102 ignition plate
After a long period, I decided to complete the rebuild of my TC mk 1 Villiers ignition plate. Whilst showing a friend the parts, I dropped a tiny grub screw in the garden .Problem is, I don't even remember where it came from. Looking at the parts diagram, I can only think it's either.... no.29 ...

Thanks Andrew, I suspected that might be the case. I have a new coil and condenser, so maybe I 'll try and rebuild it as a villiers system.

Mixing ignition systems
Hello again after a long break, I am servicing my engines. I have been using a wipac system on my TC102. But I have a villiers flywheel that has much better magnetism. Can I use it on the wipac ignition plate?
