:lol: well Tam i was out all day on my dinghy I on theTay with you're flywheel on the 40 + and it went great, not a problem all day. Used almost a whole tank of fuel. On the fishing front It was the same old story though " the one that got away" Thanks again to all on the forum. cheers ,George.

Yes Jon its number is " sjp 18274 " and ive spun it with a drill and left a very very strong magnet on it overnight still no joy, its up to the experts now, ps it looks identical to the 2 that Tam gave me...

minutes, so I changed the flywheel quickly on the 40+ in the shed, never gapped

Thanks Jon, but one query. If the one flywheel starts both engines and the other flywheel starts none of the engines then is it not a problem with the flywheel that wont start them.?

Hi guys, didn't know how to test the coil so I took the flywheel from my featherweight and swopped it with the 40+ and hey presto the 40 is now starting and the wee one isn't. I've tried re-magnetising the magnets with a drill and also using a very strong magnet overnight and no joy with these ...

Well i did the exact same as in the photo and the reading i got was 2.8, seems very low against your 72.0 tambikerboy, if the coil is kaput what are my options to try and get the engine going, thanks in advance...George

I'll have to borrow an ohms meter from my brother as my tools mostly consist of trowel hammer and spirit level. i will probably try this today. Where do you put the meter? Another silly question. Thanks guys.

hi guys, I,m getting a spark to the head but it is intermittent, ive tried my other ht lead and its the same, excuse me for sounding daft but when i turn the engine i can feel air coming out the air intake of the carb, is this normal ? cheers.. George
