To paint or not to paint

..that is the question.

Hi there guys and gals, long time no see! Now I'm back in business after a long winter.

Anyway, I've just started restoring my 1960 LLS and I'm trying to decide on the paint. The powerhead itself is going to be painted black (actually I painted it already with black engine ...

Help needed from AC owners

I recently bought a sight unseen, claimed complete, 1952 AC. Of course it wasn't complete. It is missing some parts.
The biggest part that is missing is the "rod" between the gear shift lever and the gearcase.

Anyone got pics of this part? I figure its not hard make a new one if I get hold of some ...

Villiers coil replacement thoughts..

I have a non-functioning Villiers coil in my 1960 Century LLS. I know, I know, the obvious thing to do is to order a new one online. But let's step aside from that thought for a minute.
Is there any other, more common coil, that is known to work in these engines with only the coil being different ...

New Seagull. Again.

Got this one yesterday in a bundle deal together with a '65 evinrude yachtwin and a '74 evinrude 6 hp.

It's a 1977 Silver Century Plus. Serial number WSPC986HH7. It's in a really good, non restored condition. Runs like a champ even though it has sat for 30 years. Installed a new spark plug and it ...

Re: New engine: Anzani Minor MK II

G'day Petronist,

I find it kind of interesting that many people will refer to a vintage outboard as a Seagull. I'm in Australia and have a Gold Cheetah, Waterboy and Britannia that were all advertised that way.

Anyway, great score (find) on the Anzani Minor. I need one for my collection also ...

New engine: Anzani Minor MK II

So, I just bought this engine..for a total of 10€. An older man called me and said he had an old "british seagull" laying aound that his grandfather gave him when he was a kid (the man was ~65 y.o).
The second I stepped in to the garage I knew it wasn't a Seagull. I hadn't seen an Anzani live before ...

Re: Help ID this Seagull

Thanks guys! I'll try once again today to ge hold of the serial number..

The engine is complete, it has just been partially disassembled thirty years ago before it was put into storage. Don't know why?
Only thing that is missing is obviously the starter rope.

The prop is a four blade if that helps.

Help ID this Seagull

Yesterday I bought this Seagull without knowing what model it is. The seller knew nothing about it and I haven't seen it in person. I found it 450km from my town so I sent my brother to pick it up since he lives in the same town as the seller.
I tried to get my brother to take a pic of the serial ...

Re: 1967 Century (100) Plus

Yeah they have snapped right off. Made some new mounts for it just to get the tank fixed in place. Haven't gotten around to fixing them correctly yet. Going to gas weld them back on, no biggie.

1967 Century (100) Plus

After the extremely warm welcome I got a couple of days ago I decided to post a couple of pictures of my '67 century 100 Plus. Serial number WPL1520C7 dates it to March 1967.

It had been sitting since the early 1970's when I bought it. I tore it down, cleaned it up and it started right up. I have ...

Hi there!

My name is Niko, and I live in Finland. I joined the Seagull Scene maybe a month ago. I've got a 1967 Century (100) Plus long shaft model. I was looking for something old to restore, and more or less stumbled upon this one. It had been used until the early 1970's, when it was replaced ...
