Vastly superior to inflatables and that hassle. I tow a 10 foot skiff behind my 26, with the caveat that if I hit heavily seas I will have to cut the painter and buy a new one ....

Indeed Kevin. On our side of the pond, where SUVs are common, the manufacturing carbon footprint can be 5x the tailpipe carbon load.

I'm dealing with a mucked up thread on the crankshaft of a 5 HP right now and it isn't fun. Made even less fun by the lack of sources of British die here on this side of the pond

I have a Nissan 4 stroke engine that has had four baths - two in fresh,and two in salt water - going down 2 metres in depth the last time.

Each time a water rinse and an oil change and fresh petrol have resulting in a running motor.

Later on with the RR engine fitted the Americans adopted it as their primary fighter, but the engine was renamed as a Packard. In R-R it has always been known as a "Packard Merlin". One of the early mustang allison engines is dispalyed in the R-R museum in Derby.

I have found 140 weight gear oil available in the States in the NAPA chain of automobile parts stores - special order, but available at reasonable price.
