Re: Is the thread pattern on the shaft bolt special?

OK, that makes my head spin. I found a UK source for hardware, and when I get time, I will search for a U.S. supplier. I have an old time marine supply store in San Diego that just might have what I need.

Is the thread pattern on the shaft bolt special?

Ok, I am removing the flywheel on my newly acquired 40 minus, and it is stuck. I know the drill, two man job...blow with hammer and all that stuff.

Here is my issue... I am GOING to get it off the shaft, but I wanted to use a sacrificial nut instead of the acorn that is original. I have been to the ...

Re: Strange Spark Plug find

I took a quick pic and though it is fuzzy, it may help others know what that plug looks like.

Strange Spark Plug find

I just brought home a 1975 40 Minus to add to my collection of Brit Birds. I have been under their spell for about a decade. If you are new to the subject, just wait... it happen to you.

Anyway, I found the ground electrode on the plug to unusual (at least to me). It is bent to one side, and pushed ...

Re: I want to extend the Villars cable

I have a 8 ft throttle cable here if you want it. All it will cost you is the postage to your address. I dont know what that would be. The postage could work out cheaper or more expensive than you purchasing one from were you are.

A genuine thanks for the offer, but this is something that I ...

Re: I want to extend the Villars cable

8 feet should not be a problem.
Pop down to your local bicycle shop, and they will sell you the inner and outer cable.
Then all you need to do is solder on some ends.
The cable will need to be fairly straight, with no sharp bends.
Should work well.

I want to extend the Villars cable

Cheers all, I am from the colonies (the furthest from you though, as I live in San Diego, CA) and I have a question that only a serious group of Seagull collectors can answer.

It is possible to extend the throttle lever approximately 8 feet in length so that the motor can be throttled up or down ...
