Another option is to take a thinner gear oil such as 90 grade and mix in some general purpose grease in to thicken it a bit.

If you look around you will find in the US for sure. These parts are often common sizes used in different applications. You can even make your own from thick gasket material.

If you are in the US, try any classic motorcycle dealers, or even look on ebay. Don't overtighten the banjo bolt, the threads in the carb body can easily strip out.

I've just obtained another skeletal bracket, that's short of its tilt V strut. Are there any left from the cast batch?

Yes, the drive shaft is hollow. It has just filled up with rust and other dirt. If you push a long thin rod through you will be able to clean it out.
