My Silver Century Rebuild
Recently got my hands on a 1972 silver century plus, serial WSPCL I64F2. Unsure if that is correct as I think it has a Wipac mark 3 ignition and not the mark 2 as the serial identifier says (pic below, can anyone confirm?) Also came with a Siba recoil start.

On fitting another (second hand from another engine) it is not very tight on the shaft and can be moved up and down with little effort. Re: Block paint
I have never used high temp paint.
It could be that Seagull did not bother either, when the cylinders get too hot through lack of water it burns off.
I am happy with smooth silver Hammerite and Satin "Tough Black"
Both are easy to use and don't wash off with petrol, they also are not effected by ...

Re: Spraying Hammerite?
What is gunwash? I always just run pure white spirit through my spray gun after use and that has always kept it nice and clean.

Spraying Hammerite?
Anyone got any experience in spraying Hammerite? A quick search on the web says it can't be sprayed as it contains silicone, but that could be just the scare mongers on the forums
