The Great Waikato Seagull Race.

Well the Pom did it this year, actually finished the race, all 88 miles of it, without breaking down & smashing anything.
And to top it all I finished first & broke the real British Seagull record leaving the Southern Hemisphere boys with a time of 3 hours 42 minutes that they have to beat to regain their pride.
Their hospitality was second to none, as ever, but I suspect they knew I was in with a good chance this year, as this was the first year without prize money.
Their sportsmanship was, as ever, I was only led up the garden path twice & left to get out & walk across a sand bar, I think they are getting nervuse of the Pom, as normally when they know your going to break something, they can't help enough.
The weather was perfect & apart from water levels that were very low, due to the longest, hot dry summer, they can remember.
I will try to give a full report when I get home in about a week.
