I have no idea why you have not investigated this site.....I refer to "frequently asked questions" and other links.
Standard available now, anywhere , Champion D16.
Gap? .... well start at 0.025".....adjust up or down for best operation for your engine on a transom.....NOT in a bucket aye.
If you have oiling plug problems....D21 is hotter and takes care of that.
NGK NO!

On a 1981 motor if it hasn't been fixed before, you would expect to find a flywheel that has no groove on the outer diameter,
this would imply your motor is fitted with a Mk 3 Wipac CDI (with white electronic components) these have a standard. plug gap of 35 thousands of an inch
If your flywheel has a single groove it is fitted with a Mk 4 Wypac CDI ( dark brown electronic component) with a 25 thou plug gap.

Yes Charles, correct as always.
Thing is the answers to this question do centre on what ignition.
The original poster has provided a serial but no details as what the ignition is?
No pics.....a sad thing for trying to help aye.
No pics detail of the motor either?
I think that a real board such as this, and others, get sidelined for real information because of SM?
Doing research seems to have gone bye bye?
Nuts.
