If you wish to add your SD to the register please provide data as per the register headings. Please add your details to this thread. I rarely answer the pm facility.

Webmaster: Please advise how I can download a pdf onto here or if I can send it to you for you to add. Thanks. PDF much clearer.

Hugo, happy to post a higher resolution version.

Please send a copy of the PDF to webmaster@saving-old-seagulls.co.uk and I will post on the forum one way or another.

Also if you are willing to send a copy in the original format you have (word, excel?) I can see about converting/posting it on the main SOS site with your permission. The Little Forty page is a good example of this, offering a permanent searchable reference for the future!

Many thanks,
Andrew

Thanks Alain.

If anyone else wishes to have their SD on the register do as Alain has which was brilliantly executed. Now added Alain.

I'll publish the register whenever 5 more motors are added.

Cheers, Hugo.

Thanks Bruce, I've entered your SDP 11287. That is 5 SDP's now. All #'s between 10500 and 12500 so 1945?

I am a relative beginner here. Have rescued two SD’s and would like to post details.
Can I check your terminology?
References to Bayonet Caps… is that fuel cap?
References to Magneto… where do I find this, is it stamped somewhere near the coil?
(Haven’t started unseizing bolts yet but will share pics.
Thanks
J.

Bayonet cap is indeed fuel cap. Magneto numbers on magnetos with the "coolie hat" flywheel usually have a JM number stamped on the flywheel. This is useful as it is known that the JM numbers were issued out from Villiers in number order, so generally follow seagull production from the early marston engines up to the later SD engines. So its a way of roughly seeing if the magneto is of a similar age to the actual engine.
