Re: Mounting bracket
These don't grow on trees, very difficult to find a complete one & not cheap.
Can someone post pics of all of the parts including the correct engine support lug & the locking pin.

Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
Re: Mounting bracket
There is an engine on eBay currently with one fitted, hard to find part, so buy the whole engine, get the part you want and also get a nice early post war 102
I did that once just to get the throttle lever

I've seen it,he won't send and it's a days drive from me,I've asked if it dosnt sell will he break it and I'm awaiting a reply.
Also just bought a lovely little 1952 forty, it's in Oban, 300mls away from me ,though I'm going up on a motorbike in August and I'll strap it on to bring it home.Shame I'm not going to Norwich.

Re: Mounting bracket
Make him an offer can’t refuse for the bracket only... they are very hard to find, and rarely become available.

Re: Mounting bracket
Bear in mind that your asking for a " SD skeletal mounting bracket" I've seen no evidence that the skeletal bracket was manufactured before 1946, so unless Dr. Who delivered this style of bracket with his time machine it's unlikely it was originally fitted to an SD.
This is Hugo's area of research so I'd better shut up & let him comment.

Re: Mounting bracket
Skeletal first appeared on the C and D. There is the 'Dutch' brass bracket, date and origin unknown and the SD side mount bracket for WW2 pontoons. Skeletal may have been included in sales from post war surplus retailers. Plenty of the side mount drive shaft fixture fittings left on SD's but only about 5 original brackets are known. I wouldn't sweat on getting a skeletal. Some say bent over thumbscrews are SD but.....

Thanks Hugs,very kind.
Re: Mounting bracket
Side mount ex army brackets are the correct SD bracket. Skeletal is the next one that came along briefly. I've thought about making a replica side mount at some point.
