JM magneto rubber shroud

This is quite interesting. Recently received this magneto plate from England (thank Martin). Interesting rubber shroud at the HT connection position. Effective in keeping water out. Provenance unknown, no JM number. Anyone seen this before?

Good info Bruce. Wonder if somebody added it at a later stage? Rubber is in good nick..... too good.

Could be a marston thing. I have 5 SD JM magnetos and this is the first I've seen of it.

The only thing I can see in the wartime parts book is the felt washer between the Bakerlite HT lead end & the base plate.
