I bought this tank in a box of bits some time ago, and have never used it. It seems to be a seagull tank, but is made out of thicker gauge brass and has a different screw on fuel cap. Has anybody seen anything similar? I was wondering if perhaps it might have come of a lawnmower or stationary engine?

That looks like steel, do you have a magnet?

Well, there's a surprise, I've just had a closer look, and it is indeed steel  For some reason I had it in my head it was a brass tank.

It certainly looks like a seagull tank, but it has an odd filler cap. I suppose it could have been added later? It can go back into its box now for future use.

I've just ordered a filler neck from Ceandess, so I can convert this tank back to a bayonet cap.

That's the short one, I bought the last few of the long ones a few years ago when I was building some Marston tanks, I still had to weld a chain mounting point to the long Q50.
