Saving Old Seagulls

Heya!
Just saw on FB group a pic of a US motor with a steel version of the large cap plastic tank I'v eonly seen before on QBs.

It makes the Seagull look a bit like an older exposed-flywheel John-rude, with a slight wrap-around steel tank, but the tank has all the correct Seagull water slide transfers.

Was this an 'available option' or US-only option, or is it a local mash-up?

Nothing special, i have the same tank on my 90 (ENFR).

Wasn't suggesting it was anything special, just that I'd never seen one before, and was curious as to how/when/where it was offered.

It is an "optional extra" "long range" Seagull supplied fuel tank.

During the course of their history Seagull made 4 or 5 versions of the "Long range tank".

The earliest was an extra long oval brass tank, then there were 2 versions of yours Mark, both supported by a frame with a carry handle, the first with a brass tank & the later that you have, with a steel tank, then the plastic one appeared sometime in the 80's.

Alas, it's not mine, although Boyd chimed in from West Oz to say he's got one, so they did get to Australia. The one in the pics is from Sacramento CA, a 'Delta' sailor on the FB group.

That would be an ideal size for some of the runs that we do, often have to top up during a run. Have thought about setting up a 5L remote tank.
