Yup I would say so! I have seen a cap thread like that on something else... I just cant remember what?

The Australian Marlin 4hp has a course thread like that on the tank.
I haven't been able to find a cap to fit it anywhere. Bought three so far at swap meets that i thought might fit, but none do.
And no, I don't carry the tank around everywhere i go so I can check before buying.

Managed to remove cap neck but can i get these end caps of not budging been heating it for the last 30mins with no movement..

I think the cap neck is soft soldered in and the tank ends are silver soldered. The tank I took apart took loads of heat... I think that's why some people cut the ends off. How big is the torch that your using?
