Thanks.

Define vintage? I'm surpised how often unused Seagulls come onto the market. I've also seen many that claim to be unused yet show signs of use. Caveat Emptor. All motors were tested at the factory. They do fetch a pretty penny though. I did see in the last year or so a daughter in law selling off a collection of motors in the UK which l'm sure included a few NOS. It was on facebook. Somebody here might have a contact. Good luck.

Thanks. As long as it's with the box and in mint condition...

I’d agree with Hugo, be careful what you buy, “genuine”unused examples do crop up, but do be careful.

A guy bought it in France and never used it.

Are you selling it?

Good to see you back too Alan. 8)

Trouble being you will never be able to use it. Is it permissible to restore the carton?

Definition of Vintage in a vehicle is 30 year old or more and everything else is 20 years or more. Antique is 100 years or more so in 14 years the first Marston will be an Antique. Looks like all Seagulls are vintage. Sorry l got sidetracked

Not sure about "vintage" years. I'm looking for pre 70's

If you are after a wooden crate you probably need to look at the antipodeans. Seen a couple of new crated centuries in NZ in recent years.

I hope you have deep pockets... and this one has been used!

I know where an unused one is also... I don't want to pay the price the guy thinks it is worth ($1500)

I had a look at that advert and it looks like it was sold for $500 few days ago. Was perfect for what I'm looking for. Although I prefer pre 70's.
I appreciate all the comments and advices.

I do have this. An LS forty. Mid fifties. Not mint but very very good. Still has factory seals on driveshaft. Original bird decal and in a crate. Is the crate original or made for the Halvorsen cruiser on original delivery? We don't know. In Sydney. Arguable the best LS in the world. I paid a lot of money for it 10 years ago. Plug lead has been replaced.
