H8 guys I was lucky enug( to pick up a little Ferrier 120 here in South Australia. Only problem is it’s missing the gearbox and drive shaft. Any idea where I would be able to find the parts I’m looking for. If overseas I’m more than happy to pay the price for the items and postage to get it to me.
Thanks Adam

Adam,

98% of the readers of this site will have no idea what a Ferrier 120 gearbox looks like, so even if they have one sitting in a parts box they won't know if it's the one your looking for!

I've only ever seen perhaps 2 of these in the last 20 years & have no idea what the lower unit looks like.

A couple of pictures would help a lot as the same lower unit might have been used on another low volume British outboard.

I had a ferrier single cylinder model which I sold on a few years ago. Is the 120 the twin cylinder model? That’s a fairly rare beast for sure, the only way to obtain a gearbox will be to buy a second engine if one comes I suspect.

The Ferrier 240 was the only twin cylinder model, I'm told there were 4 different 120 models, all with a 2 bladed prop.

Keith P might be able to assist, I think he rebuilt one and kept one for parts? Worth asking.

That one seems to be missing the water delivery tube, did you run it?

That's a photo I found on google, I don't have any photos of the two I had. I think this one belongs to a forum member down under.

If I remember right, didn't the water delivery run in the same location as a Seagull 102?

G'day Oyester, That's definitely a Ferrier 120 (belongs to member Collector Inspector). They were available with two styles of fuel tank. Per the picture and a wrap around. Cylinder gives clues as to the tank style eg no threaded holes for the tank brackets on those designed to have a wrap around tank.

Adam needs a gearbox for his, and I need a wrap around tank for mine.

Regards,
S
