Saving Old Seagulls

Good day, My first post and I'm the new proud owner of LLSL1136D3. I bought it off a little old lady in Norway who had it in her garage for many many years. I quote, "Pappa used to drive us around with it when I was a kid". I snatched it up for a fair price and after further inspection, it looks like pappa put it away quite clean. I've cleaned an already clean carb and gas tank, and gear/prop case. The rotor is in mint condition and I have good water flow when back flushing it with a hose. New cables, plugs, and oil are on order. My question to the group is, "How have you, if you've done it, raised the engine up a bit so the prop is at the correct height in the water? Have you made a homemade spacer or is it something to buy? It doesn't seem too difficult to fabricate something functional, but I thought I'd ask here to generate ideas. Thanks

you could probably make one.
I think that most people just simply bolt two of the engine support lug clamps together.

I personally don't like these but each to there own. I modified my 40+ clutched model but cutting everything 10cm!

Yikes, for that money, I'll make one. I've tried tightening those bolts. Turning those bolts made turning the engine become stiffer.

Get a piece of small diameter plastic drainpipe cut to the length you need,cut it lengthwise, and clamp it with a jubilee clip. Otherwise, John of this website has Seagull height adjusters for sale.

How cheap do you want to go?

A jubilee clip on it's own is normally enough for most people's uses.

The plastic tube protects the drive shaft chrome, fills the gap between the top of the drive shaft & the transom bracket support, the jubilee clip just holds the plastic tube in place, no risk of any damage using the plastic tube.
