Saving Old Seagulls

g'day gang, peter here from hervey bay in qld

i'm a new chum as far as seagulls go although i bought a new one back in the 80s and i've had boats most of my life.

i recently bought a seagull espc 179 ff0 and i'm in the process of doing her up

i want to make a trolley to put the motor on to work on and store also i should be able to put a container of water under the motor so as to run the it

what i need is plans, drawings, photos, anything to give me an idea of how to go about it. i think it needs to be well balanced, that's about all i have

so any help or advice is welcome

If you go down the purchasing a hand/sack truck route, here is a simple way to adapt it for mounting the outboard without damaging the hand/sack truck. A few scraps of wood and a few bolts and you're good to go.

...Or if you want to make it from scratch and you're handy with a welder, this will give you an idea of the basic shape of construction, the mercury in the picture is a lot heavier than any seagull that you'll be putting on it, so it shows you how simple you can keep it.

Problem with the yellow one is that it is prone to tipping forward.

If you're making your own, the legs should extend both sides of the uprights ie to centralise the weight of the outboard.

I have one like the yellow stand, its ok, but it has only one set of wheels, tilt and move much better then a full set of wheels.
