They are not worn, so no need to replace.

Three options:
1. Leave alone as I've run motors with far worse.
2. Put a sleaving over existing wires. Some heatshrink tubing will suffice.
3. Find an old stove and pinch some of that wiring. Later model stoves (ie 20 years or less) use a a high heat resistant silicon insulation or earlier ones use a braided cloth/abestos insulation which look a bit more authentic.

Arm doesn't look long enough for JM mag but l could be wrong. Early Villiers Mk1?

Cheers china's will leave alone yes hugz it came from a JM baseplate that I'm cleaning up might stick it on a FVP unless someone tells me it won't fit. :

Just thinking out loud here, but weren't those "long arm" points with the lock nuts fitted not only into a JM baseplate (coolie hat) but the "flat top" villiers as well?
If you're thinking of fitting this into an FVP or similar i would have thought the sliding points would be a better bet from the second generation "rimless" baseplate as it's a 50's motor you're playing with, normally with an aluminium points box. I'd make sure that the cam inside the flywheel will actually reach the arm to open/close the points properly. Could end in tears otherwise.

If it fits and works good, then great.
