Prop!
Missing the small screw in the exhaust tube too.

The rest looks pretty good Tam apart from what you know to be wrong.
Chances are that the head might have been off this one in the past judging by those protruding bolt threads. There's still hacksaw marks on one of them which is a bit of a giveaway. You'll see soon enough if the gaskets are steel or copper/paper.
Nice job. Where did you get that one from? :P

It looks to have had a cylinder head transplant and that would include the tank, also the tiller and lever.
The stud and nyloc nut sticking out of crankcase gives it away a little.
We know how fragile the little forty heads can be.

I think the tank is right for this one. Same for the 3 that i have at any rate!

The head, absolutely. It's been replaced. No scripting on these normally (although it's not difficult to get rid of this)
The bolts too.

It could end up being a pup. Go careful with it Tam when you take it apart.

Tam,
Good to see another LS that is going to be rebuilt and looked after. This one should keep you busy Tam for a few days!
I think the carb looks wrong with the choke on the wrong side.
I have added LS21885 to the data list.
All the best.

You're right Jeremy.
The choke flap is hinged on the right hand side (later carb). Aren't they normally hinged on the left? (mine are anyway)
I wonder if it's a 1/2" not a 7/16" carb.

You'll soon see Tam once you start taking it apart. Measure the internal bore of the inlet stub for a better idea on which carb it should be.
I'm willing to bet it's 7/16" just like the FV's and FVP's.
