That little ripper has been advertised on both ebay and Gumtree for approx. last 5-6 months. Started at $300, moved down to $200 a month or so ago and still no takers.

Reminds me of the purple Waterboy that's been advertised for approx. 2 years now, starter at $550 if memory serves correct and now a steal at $480.

Only two bidders. Not an unreasonable price @ $569 at present. Auction finishes at 7am ish Sunday Morning. Unusual strategy, let see how it pans out.

Dismissed.

The third crankcase is an SD as well. Dismissed for which faults? I'm a bit of a sucker for SD's. Seems to be lacking correct prop and is a short shaft if there is such a thing. Steel tank and bayonet cap is there.

I inspected these personally last Sunday, could have taken the whole lot home same day for $300. There were not enough parts there to make a single SD. Transom bracket was wrong, tanks straps and carby were missing as was the prop, near zero compression, dodgy attempt at prior rebuild, etc etc etc. Hence I decided to pass on the deal.

Owner will be thankful I didn't take them.

I am too!

I don't know what SD parts are worth down there, but up here the sum total of the parts would exceed $300 even with the sad £.

Cylinder, coolie hat ignition, tank & cap, brass & copper bits.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Hmm l have those missing parts! Was the spare magneto a JM one? $300 sounds most reasonable and the later one would easily fetch $250. Lucky it wasn't in Sydney otherwise I would be in a quandary. Did it have the skeg stamp?

I don't doubt that for a minute Charles, however we are talking Australia. To find the bits in the UK, purchase and ship them over would have put this way over the top in terms of total.

Hugo, the WC was rough, $50 outboard tops in my opinion. If it was in better nick or could be brought up to a resale standard of say $200 or $250 then I would have done the deal. Sale of that could/would have offset the cost of bits needed for the SD.

I cannot confirm whether the skeg was appropriayely stamped or not unfortunately.

The spare SD power head assembly was missing barrel, it also had no coolie cover and broken rope sheave. There was an aluminium coolie cover in the box of spares, but I would not have thought that to be an original parts. Integrity of all inhibitions was not tested.

May have been an ok purchase if I had the missing bits, but unfortunately I do not.

Aluminium coolie hat fitted to 90% of SD's.

Though the cylinder is a show stopper.
