new project and a Villiers carb question

I sure as a hole in my hull didn't need another S.G.!
But how can I refuse it when it came with a just about useless rusted motor stand!
This motor looks like it's had a hard, abused life and tossed in a shed, just my style!!
This is a July '68 Plus 40 with a Villiers carb.
I have it all apart, (well all most).
The needle float arm looks like it's "pinned" in place, (part # V257 and V355 in my parts book)?
I'd LIKE to pull the needle out, clean and inspect it.
Does it come out and how??
As always thanks for your help!
Joe
If I took ALL the $$ I spent over the years on old jeeps, old sailboats, now Sea Gulls, I'd have enough to buy a NEW jeep, a NEW sailboat and a NEW outboard.
But, what fun would that be??

HI, First off remove V146X6 and V107X1.
Remove V424 and push out V538, but don't forget about V107X3, that will give you access to the parts V355 and V257.
But do remember to line up V638 to the hole for V107X3.

Haven't seen that before Keith, a very nice piece of work!

That was awesome Keith!
I have the carb. down to," a pile of pieces just by removing this or that and see what falls off!
So, the pin is just pressed in. Like this entire engine, it's the easiest way to do things!
(I THOUGHT so, but was afraid to yank on it, afraid I'd break it off).
Tanks!
Joe

I would remove the main jet V638 and just move the fuel lever (V257) to one side to gain access to the fuel needle, the pin has a spiral to it, I would leave it in.

Nice animation!

I remove the jet and depression equalizeation tube brass long thing and swivel the float forked thingy out of the way and the needle what-name comes out.....

The pin doodad stays in place in the carb body thing-ama-jiggy.
