new project and a Villiers carb question

I sure as a hole in my hull didn't need another S.G.!
But how can I refuse it when it came with a just about useless rusted motor stand!
This motor looks like it's had a hard, abused life and tossed in a shed, just my style!!
This is a July '68 Plus 40 with a Villiers carb.
I have it all apart, (well all most).
The needle float arm looks like it's "pinned" in place, (part # V257 and V355 in my parts book)?
I'd LIKE to pull the needle out, clean and inspect it.
Does it come out and how??
As always thanks for your help!
Joe
If I took ALL the $$ I spent over the years on old jeeps, old sailboats, now Sea Gulls, I'd have enough to buy a NEW jeep, a NEW sailboat and a NEW outboard.
But, what fun would that be??
