Cleaning a villiers carb

There doesn't seem to be fuel coming into the carburettor. The taper needle comes out easily by unscrewing the top, but I would like to remove the float and bowl for cleaning. The whole carb is plastic and I am not sure how it comes apart. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks. Dave

The float bowl unscrews off the bottom of the carbie body. Take out the needle and see if fuel flow's, if not then soak it in some cleaner for a while then blow some air through it the wrong way to get the muck out.

This might sound really silly but
is the fuel coming out of the tank?
see I know it sounds silly but I did that one time I forgot to pull out the fuel knob

Thanks for the advice. there is fuel coming from the tank, I actually think about checking this (after a while!). Re the bowl, I assume I grip in my hand and turn anti-clockwise as viewed from below. Will it be quite tight? Dave

yes, unscrew, a brass nut molded onto the bottom of the bowl holds it on.
