				Hi,
I was browsing the ads on gumtree and came across this -
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/surfers- ... 1080514399
Advertised as the first model Honda outboard to be built. Is it me or does the actual motor look like a Honda stationary engine for powering an edger or pump etc?
It just doesn't look right to me.
What do you think?
Cheers
BP

It looks like a GB 30 leg, and a different Honda stationary engine.
In the mid 60's dad was in the boat game and someone approached him about selling jap outboards, his partner laughed the guy out of the shop.
By 1972 we were selling mariner, (Yamaha, sold by Mercury's parent company) That 8 hp is still going.
The Honda GB30
There was a GB20, and a 25, or a 35, it a long time ago, but there were three of then, then B45, B75 and B100 a few years later came out and they were conventional OHC Honda outboards.
And they have been making them like that since the early 70's.

				yep, you are right
this is a wrong power head on that leg
btw. the original is indeed a stationary engine
and you can find a GB-40 as well ( long ago I had one )
