Silly question no doubt but ..... can I put a block back together replacing the cylinder head set screws with drive leg studs and nuts / spring washers?

They are both 5/16 BSF, so should work ok, make sure there is enough thread to compress gasket.

Plain washers would make more sense than spring ones.

Sounds like a goer then! I had some spare and didn't have any of the set screws and I thought if it ever needs taken apart again then I wont have to worry about screws breaking. Cheers for the advice.
