Hello all,
Has anybody out there ever replaced the two brass studs on a long range
steel tank
I have a tank with both cradle holding studs damaged and wondered if they
can be repaired in anyway or is it a replacement tank
Many thanks

Re: Tank Cradle Studs
Hi,
I would run a die (BSF 5/16?) on the broken stud, then I would use a rod.. Make internal threads, external threads on it and then the appropriate nut. I think you get the idea.

I love the 10600/145 turns!!!

Hi Stelios.
Thank you for your idea but the other end is so badly damaged
that a thread on the stub end would not be possible
Many thanks

Re: Tank Cradle Studs
You could make a new one with a flat head perhaps 030" thick and weld it in place with a couple of dabs of the mig, dress, finish with a bit of epoxy filler and repaint?
