Saving Old Seagulls

Hi folks
I have a silver centery plus LS and a centery ss
and A 40 plus mk 2 ls
what I want to do is have two sea gulls running on my boat at the same I will prob combine the 40 plus and the silver centery Yes I know there is a difference in HP but if I adjust the revs so they pull the same will it work
your thoughts please

Got to be honest i cant see the point in running 2 motors(unless you want more speed in wich case buy a bigger motor!!)Even if you matched the revs there would be a marked difference in thrust between the 40+ and the centuary.I would sugest if you are going to encounter situations that could be at all "iffy" you use the motor you trust the most.

Hi,

I have tried this and it doesn't work! Get two the same and make a bar that connects the two tanks together with hinges so you can steer. I have done this for a bit of fun!

I also have a rare amal throttle controller with two controllers! Looks like 2 stuck on top of each other but properly done by Amal!

Note, even with 2 of the same engines, Seagulls aren't fast, you wont get an adrenaline rush unless you get an adrenlaine rush when you use a Seagull normally!

See the Gallery for another twin Seagull set up! Rob got no extra speed, but a bit of fun, the chaps in Russia did get extra speed, but look at the length of the boat!

Remember the rule of thumb,

length in metres on the waterline = speed in knots and = power need to get there. works for most heavy boats up to 10 metres!

thanks all I sort of had the silly idea that the hp's would combine lol I dont ave to worry about joining then together as its on a sail boat so the gull is fixed and I stear with the tiller/rudder.
time for me to go, the tide is on the way up so you know where I am off to lol

I've actually tried boats with twin seagulls during my unsucessfull quest to build the fastest Seagull powered hull in the world.

As your using a rudder for steering & fixed motors you will avoid the huge problem of trying to steer the monster your creating, don't ever let one of your engines free to steer itself as they can fill a small hull in less time than it takes you to to get up from the floor where you fell, when it first went crazey.

If you get more than a 10% increase in speed when they are both screaming I will very suprised, but worth a try.

Has anyone here seen a silvercentery plus wspcl ****aa5 with a white Yes WHITE tank mine is white I dont kknow if this orignal... dont think so or if it was painted
