Hey,has anyone seen the Dunelt on ebay? Rare as hens teeth! It will be interesting to see what it goes for...

I think that's the third one that I've seen being sold over the last three years.

They are a big lump, they make a Marston twin look small!

Not for me I don't have a boat big enough to carry it.

Shame it's not complete, home made exhaust (looks well made) no prop and what looks like a Britannia or Anzani tank. Rare, but what chance of getting the parts to finish it? As Charles says as heavy as a ton of bricks, so a nice ornament..

500cc though, rather quick with the right prop I suspect.

Not as easy as that Adrian, it needs.

102 style long tubular tank with very unusual filler cap.

Correct air intakes.

2 cast tank support brackets each a different shape.

Most of the water fittings & the drain off taps look wrong.

New exhaust with cast end caps.

2 cast spark plug covers.

The right transom bracket.

Oh and the right prop.

A lot of these were electric start with built in ignition & charging circuit & I note he doesn't state it has a spark even with a new coil, both plugs fire at the same time.

I hope the bidder is a lot younger than me as this will be a very long restoration, unless he's just looking for some spares.

Yes, great project, but very, very difficult to achieve!

I have part motor which is basically.....................living outside under an eve for the time being.

A mess of unuseable rust and incomplete. Better as a garden hose tidy or letter box frame.

Yes, a bit of a "Lump" aye.

A better one down here will turn up one day.

"One Day" is a Collectors' mainstay aye.

I must say I have learnt the hard way to watch what I buy Something as rare as that with that many parts missing will end up gathering dust in the corner of the shed, unless you happen to have another incomplete one

Yea,we've all done that... I have several motors AND stationary engines that I knew were NEVER going to run again but at the time I NEEDED them and HAD to buy them... Boys and their toys...

This deserves a topic I think! After all what if two incomplete engines occur?

You will still be looking for the same part that they are both missing.

Tell me about it...has anyone else hung on to an engine part in case "someday it will be useful"? The day after you chuck it in the bin,THAT'S when someone offers you the rest of the motor!

Well, yes. I have many parts motors and most of them are indeed missing the same part. Tends to fill up the lean to with spider breading ground and Ships Cat Fluff.

If you have a "Ships Cat" you will understand that. "They" own everything regardless.

If one is single and of the same mind as well as into "OLD" things.......................the cobwebs have increasing expansion grounds as a matter of wallet and "OOOOOOOO LOOK at THAT!" Buy it!

Sad existance actually, no one understands but happy.

I have an "Old Parent" in care. She does not gather cobwebs in the lean to however.

I have a coal cellar nicely appointed and lockable for Her.

It would be interesting to see and hear a Dunelt run. I must confess I've never seen one apart from Hunns book and ebay... Mind you I've heard a Rolls straight 8 diesel in a Thornycroft tank transporter flat out,but that's another story...
