What paint job would give a lasting protective finish

Hello, my Curlew has suffered from quite bad corrosion on the cylinder head/block (iron flakes) and transom bracket (deep white crust). I was wondering what would give a decent long-lasting protective coating on these components. Something that will last me a couple of years at least... Especially the cylinder as I expect it will get quite hot. I have some Rustoleum Primer and Hammerite spray/brush-on in the garage - would that combo do the trick? Many thanks!

I use international high temp gloss on cylinders. The transom bracket will need to be carefully cleaned and rubbed down prior to painting to get all the white corrosion off.
The cylinder would benefit of a good wirebrushing before painting. Preparation is the art of good painting!

The cylinder is cleaning up well. Its interesting to find the cast markings and millings appearing from under the paint and rust. Wire wool seems to work well on the transom bracket after scraping off the crust.

That one might be a candidate for stripping and bead blasting.

On these early models Seagull were using plastic coating a fore runner to powder coating, it never seemed to stick to the substrate as well as powder coating but looked good for the first couple of years, as soon as it was knocked leaving holes in the surface that water could penetrate, the water creapt under any of the plastic that wasn't stuck well , giving you the surface finish you now enjoy.

I use Tough black Satin.

Strip old paint, Upol etch primer then black.
Tcut polish not too shiny.
Gearbox I use smooth Hammerite silver

Thanks for the images and info... if I got a finish like that I'd be happy.
The point on plastic coating... the transom bracket seems to have this kind of coating although its very thin in some places - making me think that it was just paint. Hmmmm either way, it has to come off. I might give my local shot blasting firm a call tomorrow to see what sort of money they'd be looking for.
Higher priority at the minute is clearing out the block's water channels
