Century teething problems

Post by spiderg »

Hi Guys, just got the usual buzz after getting my first start up from my Century, however I've got the usual teething problems. Can anyone tell me how to search for old topics as I'm sure my questions have been answered over and over. I got this century in poor condition so I gave it the general clean. Got a good spark, compression etc. I got it kicking over but had to put the choke back on to keep it running. It was racing so when I turned off the throttle, "panic" it kept going. Obviously my cable needs adjusting but how do I know where to adjust it to? I guess the problem with having to choke on can be numerous stuff. If someone could help me to trace old postings that would be good, and save me asking the same old questions. By the way, was it me, or does a century give out a noise suggesting power? Thanks guys.

Search, at the top right if the screen.
search.php?keywords=throttle+adjustmentSearch%E2%80%A6

With the carb slide all the way at the bottom, adjust the cable, so you have a little slack in the cable, by pulling the outer cable out at the top of the carb and without the carb slide moving, should do it.

Thanks Keith. As much as it was good to hear it start it was a panic to shut it down.
