I just saw this on the bay, it made me chuckle i admit.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/British-Seagu ... 3a7fc9b518

Including the posted question and answer,

Q: hi,its a common diagnostic error thinking frost damage, its the shear amount of rust in the cylinder jacket expanding out spliting the water jacket its jam packed with rust 29-Mar-13
A: Hi I am interested in your theory and fully accept that the waterways are packed with rust. However surely it was the water that had been trapped by the rust that expanded when frozen and cracked the block? Has anyone done any experiments to demonstrate the force caused by iron turning into rust in a confined space? Is it greater than water changing phase at around 0 degrees? Regards

So i beg the question, how many of you true seagullers will be bidding?

I did contact the seller and told him to throw it away, to avoid bad feedback.

You would be desperate to buy this one, there are lots about, I paid very little on the bay for a near mint one.

I think we've all seen some cracked blocks fetch some good money.

I was just looking as i'm on the look out for a 40 series block.

If that one including postage for someone in UK costs 12-15GBP, wouldn't worth a try to repair it?
I had repaired one from a silver century which had cracks on the letters. I used an epoxy steel and the repair looks successful even after some use.
