I Got a Tinny!

Post by Collector Inspector »

A wee boat for my Old Dears on the River.

Savage 11ft Gull car topper with a 1974 Evinrude Fisherman in good condition. It was delivered to my Hut free of charge.............it will never leave the river from now.

Laura bought me some oars for my BDay so I can paddle out and rope start Things!

Registered and legal.

Totally Cool Aye?

Good looking boat Bruce.

Must go well with that OMC twin.

That is my favourite engine, Quiet and powerful for the weight.

I put the same engine on my kids boat, and it would do 17mph.

So your tinny should be quite quick.

Amazingly we don't have any regulation on boats such as this
just buy a boat stick it in and the lifeboat will come and rescue

Great boat the savage. I had one the same. you probably already know this. septone alley bright works wonders on an aluminium boat. just spray a non diluted mix through a garden sprayer. leave it sit for a while. and rinse of using a water .blaster. they come up brand new again

Bring a boat here Paul and you'll see.. You are in paradise!!

I don't know much about this type of boats but it is looking pretty, so I wish you enjoy it!!

In Greece we use deep V hulls on Ribs or heavy displacement hulls for the Aegean see as in a calm day you are out for a ride it is not impossible the wind to reach 4-5bf and when the weather is not good for a ride 7bf is typical. In the Ionian see hulls is not essential to be too deep or too heavy, weather is relatively calm and quite predictable.
I love the 10600/145 turns!!!

I (my parents) have a three rooms house near Athens next to the sea where can sleep 9 persons and it would be better if there are two couples in those 9 persons :P

Or we could go camping where could come the whole forum!

Not sure how you got a Yoda.

I googled "Bruce in his tinny"

and I got this

Image

At least it is an Ausi guy with a tin boat with an outboard on the back :D

There were some other images, that were less boat related

Image

And some that were more boat related

Image

If you Google image "Skyetoyman" you get all sorts, there is even a picture of me.

Just shows that if it is posted on the interweb it is there for ever.

Some nice boats on images from skyetoyman google search. The clue to how I got Yoda may be in my name and we do have a stream in the garden . We even have a waterfall.
Nice weather up here too. Taken this morning. Free ramp in centre of picture. The Uists in the distance (12 miles)
Just a shame swmbo won't go out when it's cold. I keep telling her the sea is warmer than the land in winter but she still won't budge
