Whats she worth

Due to a change of circumstances (sold my boat and moved back in with my parents to look after my disabled mother) I have to part with the old motor.

She's scruffy (dented tank, slight pitting on the chrome)
Needs a service, a new throttle cable and a new pull cord (to replace the home made effort)

BUT she runs beautifully

How much should I ask for her

She is a complete (and as far as I know all original) 1965, 4.5hp Century Plus ( CP 2146 F5 ) with four bladed hydrofan

Well, what it is worth actually and what someone is prepared to pay.

I would say a couple of cartons of amber with no pics or previous history.............

Thing is, are you offering this as an internal question of members, or, are you just Phishing?

I think the latter in this case.

Also no option of freight makes it worth a lot less at this stage.

Seagulls are NOT a Gold Mine remember.

As C.I. says it is worth what someone will give you for it.

This is a common motor, and its value depends on condition, post a picture and we will have a better idea.

Generally this type appear to sell for between £25 and £75.

The last one of these that I bought as a runner off the bay was £19.00, a friend saw one at an auction last week that went for £15.00.

Best bet would be on the bay, 99p starting price, but you are getting into the wrong time of year.

I don't want to sell her but without a boat she's just a shed ornament.

Not phishing  and I don't trust e-bay

Between £25 & £75... I bought her as a non runner for £49 from a chandlers 6 years ago I still have the reciept (she only needed a new spark plug) I've been offered £70.

If she was worth silly money I would've told the guy to take a hike... but if £70 is a good price its decision time.
