Saving Old Seagulls

I've searched for this info but it's eluded me, so I hope you don't mind another newby question

I have re-built my very clogged up and seized Seagull bitza and got it running, started second pull! No wonder people love these things

As there are no engine numbers on it, I am wondering if the crankshaft bearing length is any indication as to what mix to use, the drive side one is 32 mm, and the flywheel side one is 43.5 mm long, if that helps.
Hoping the smoke will get less as the assembly oil washes out and the mix is corrected, this pic doesn't show much smoke but it is a filthy beast right now.

It looks like an LLS long shaft , with the wrong tank.
I don't know about crank lengths, but it should be a 10:1 mix

Thanks for your reply Keith, I suppose I was hoping someone would say the replacement crank cases are of a later type that can run 25:1, but thinking about it maybe the crank shaft would have to be longer too..

I'll run it some more with the correct 10:1 mix and see how it goes..

Don't you mean an SJP or an FP? still at 10 : 1.

The tank support looks like it is made for an oval strap on tank, and the prop is a 9" straight bladed one, is that any help identifying it Charles?

None whatsoever.
That looks like a Seagull 102 tank, long range.
I doubt if the tank bracket ever saw the Seagull factory gates.
That's a 64 cc Seagull that's all we can tell for certain.
We need good pics of gearbox, prop, powerhead, ignition, cylinderhead.

The ignition is points type same as my 40 minus.

After much googling I found this picture,
This one is said to be a Silver Century Plus, it has a similar tank bracket.

So my Seagull may be a proper bitza made of spare parts to keep it going cheaply, (the tank was loosley held on with twisted copper wire)it came from a full time fisherman so this would make sense, as it was free I never asked much about it.

If its not a Filthy beast, then its not a Seagull. If its a bitsa who cares solong as it goes & reliable, then Enjoy a very practical outboard.

I use 10/1 for all my seagulls nice and simple and i dont mind smoke
